My name is Travis Blaesing, and I am a transgender man.
If you asked me my name 2 years ago, I would have told you something different.
About 2 years ago I started my social and medical transition. Saying that I am grateful to see The Other Bird partnering with quest CHC for pride month would be an understatement. After being turned down by countless family doctors in Hamilton for transgender care, I found dr. Massarella at Quest CHC. Access to the services that Quest CHC offers has undoubtedly changed my life. The Other Bird has provided a safe space for me to do that.

In order to show our support for Travis and the 2SLGBTQ+ community, Burro sold Travis’ very own taco special The LGBT+ for the entire month of June. This taco featured Lettuce, Tomato, (Pork) Belly, Tomato + Lemon Mayo.
A dollar from each taco was donated to Quest Community Health Centre in order to give thanks for their personal support to Travis but also to give them the support they need to help others in the community and to raise awareness of their work so that they can enrich more lives, just as they did for Travis.
Due to the great level of success, we plan on making the LGBT+ Taco a feature every June to show our support of Pride, and all of our friends in the 2SLGBTQ+ community.
